Toronto Pride has always been and will always be about INCLUSION. While the Black Lives Matter cause is important, Toronto Pride is a celebration of inclusiveness and preventing LGBTQ+ members of the Police Services from marching in future parades both as proud members of our community AND proud members of the Police Service flies in the face of all we have worked so hard to build. Although we acknowledge that there is more work to be done, the police have become one of our most important allies. BLM is not the only voice of all members of the LGBTQ+ community but one of many who have the right to a say in who participates in our celebration of a difficult past, a hopeful present, and a bright future. Please let your voice be heard, stand up for the LGBTQ+ members of our force, and let them continue to be part of our celebration of inclusiveness, pride and love.
