Prevent Wildfires in California to Save Biodiversity

Prevent Wildfires in California to Save Biodiversity

The Issue

California's plants and animals are at serious risk because wildfires are happening more often. California has lots of biodiversity.  In recent years, wildfires have become more frequent and more intense, putting these precious ecosystems in danger.

In 2020, there were over than 9,900 wildfires in California that burned over 4.2 million acres, the most ever recorded in the state. These fires destroyed habitats, killed wildlife, and decreased biodiversity.

To face this problem, we need a plan. We plan to convince the California government to increase funding for wildfire prevention. We ask the California government to focus on policies that prevent wildfires.

By signing this petition, you are supporting stronger wildfire prevention measures that will help protect California's biodiversity, as well as people's lives, homes, and the environment. Your signature can help change policies and practices, inspiring real action to protect our environment for future generations. Please join us in this important effort to protect our state and its biodiversity.
