Point #3 of Petition Resolved

The following point of our petition has been resolved:

"Encouraging the public to report harassment, assault, and rape, whether they are bystanders or victims, through mobile apps and online platforms like JDoe. Then, use resources like JDoe to conduct more consistent investigation, prosecution, and punishment of perpetrators."

In February 2021, an anonymous reporting service for victims and bystanders of sexual violence and assault in Barrie was launched. The service can be accessed via the web or an app by those 18 years old and older if they are uncomfortable reporting the crime directly to the police or using their name. The aim of the app is to hold perpetrators responsible for their actions through further investigation and laying charges.
