Prevent the Unnecessary KILLING of Shelter Dog, Drago

The Issue

Drago, a shelter dog residing in Camden County, NJ since February 2022, is facing an undeserved fate. The shelter has decided to euthanize a group of dogs and sadly, Drago is on this list. Despite having potential adopters lined up - including one being a past adopter who is fully aware and prepared to handle the resource-guarding behavior of his food - the shelter refuses to reconsider their decision.

This prior adopter has successfully adopted from this very shelter before and is willing to work with Drago's behavioral issues. It's heartbreaking that even with viable options available, they are choosing to needlessly kill Drago over adoption.

In the United States alone, approximately 670,000 dogs are euthanized each year according to the ASPCA. This number could be significantly reduced if shelters were more open towards potential adopters who are willing and capable of handling dogs like Drago.

We believe every dog deserves a chance at life and love; no dog should be needlessly killed when there are people ready and willing to provide them with a loving home. We urge you all in Camden County and beyond to join us in our plea: Don't let them needlessly kill Drago!
