My name is Alex, and I am writing this petition to stop the forced sale of Chubby, a precious member of our family. Chubby, a dog, has been with me since I was seven years old and is not just a pet. He's a cherished family member, a loyal friend in every sense of the word, my everything. Due to circumstances beyond my immediate control, my father is sending Chubby off to an uncertain future with a stranger. 

In America, approximately 1.6 million dogs are adopted each year, but not all of these dogs find a forever home. (Source: ASPCA). While adoption has its merits, unscrupulous individuals exist, and I cannot bear the thought of Chubby falling into the wrong hands. The forced sale of Chubby is not only breaking our bond but also potentially exposes him to uncertainty and risk.  pets like Chubby provide considerable emotional and psychological benefits to their human companions. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, pets can decrease your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels, and feelings of loneliness while providing opportunities for exercise and outdoor activities.

My story is not unique. I am just one of the millions of people whose lives are enriched by the unconditional love and companionship of a pet.
