Prevent the Rezoning of Current Mantua Elementary School's Attendance Zones

The Issue

For over four decades, the Mantua Elementary school attendance zones, encompassing Mantua proper, Ridgelea Hills, Pine Ridge, Morningside Dr., and Winterset, have been a home to us. We are a vibrant community of actively engaged families providing a nurturing environment for our children to flourish and learn.

Fairfax County Public Schools embarking on a 16-month boundary review of our current school attendance zones, potentially moving us into the Falls Church HS pyramid. Such a decision would dislocate our community, disrupt our children's learning, and sever ties that we've fostered over years.

In the last five years, the school has consistently ranked among the top elementary schools in the state, as per the U.S. News Education ranking. This excellent track record is due in large part to the strong community involvement and the continuity afforded by maintaining long-standing neighborhood ties, which rezoning threatens to unravel.

It is vital to consider the long-term impacts of rezoning. Schools are the heart of any community, and altering their structure can unsettle the whole environment, negatively affecting both the teaching faculty and our children's social and academic progress.

We request that Fairfax County Public Schools refrain from rezoning any current zones of Mantua Elementary School. Please sign this petition to uphold the integrity of our community and ensure the continuity of excellent education for our children.
