This place isn't just a beautiful geographical feature; it's also home to our livelihoods, our sense of community, and a sanctuary for numerous endangered species. Unfortunately, Spruce Knob is under a threat - a threat of losing its identity by a potential change of name to Trump Mountain. We strongly believe that this change could lead to a loss of value for our beloved region. 

Spruce Knob, as we know it, is the highest peak in West Virginia and the most prominent element of our natural heritage. Every year, it attracts thousands of tourists, fueling our local economy and showcasing the natural wonder of our region (Source: West Virginia Tourism Office). Our unique flora and fauna, including a variety of endangered species, depend on the preservation of this area and its identity. These factors contribute to the unique value and importance Spruce Knob holds for us, and we believe an alteration of its name would diminish that.
