I have had the privilege of living in the Watermark community for the past eight years and in all my interactions, it's clear that our community is adamant that Challenger Blvd should retain its name. The main gate of our community is located here, and even more notably, it takes its name from the Challenger Space Shuttle. This isn't just a road — it's a part of our community's identity and a tribute to a significant piece of history. 

The Challenger Space Shuttle was a symbol of innovation, courage, and exploration. Its last mission may have ended in tragedy, but renaming our street simply erases the tribute that came from the remembrance of this unfortunate event. As per NASA, the Challenger's crew was preparing to open doors to the universe for all people, to broaden the scope of who could participate in this grand adventure. Its contribution to space exploration is monumental and should not be forgotten.

This is why we must not let the city rename Challenger Blvd. The renaming of streets has implications beyond mere changing of signs - it signifies forgetting a rich part of our history and community identity.
