The Issue

I am an animal lover and have dedicated myself to feeding stray dogs and cows regularly. It deeply pains me to witness the biased attitude of our society towards these voiceless beings who rarely cause harm unless provoked. It is heartbreaking to imagine the suffering these dogs will endure if they are uprooted from the only community they have ever known. These animals, which have become accustomed to the familiar faces that feed and care for them, will face unimaginable adversity in shelter homes, where they might encounter bullying or even death.

Recently, the Supreme Court of India made a decision to relocate approximately 8 lakh stray dogs from Delhi and NCR to shelter homes. This decision seems incredibly one-sided and lacks compassion for these helpless creatures. Does humanity really repay loyalty with exile? Instead of relocating these animals, we must address the root causes by implementing stricter regulations against breeding and ensure that adequate funds are allocated purposefully for sterilization and vaccination programs.

The decision seems disproportionately harsh when compared to other societal issues. For instance, why are steps not taken to address the availability of liquor, which claims countless human lives annually? The focus should be on constructive solutions rather than drastic measures that may do more harm than good.

It's time we stand up against these decisions and advocate for the rights and well-being of stray animals. We need to call upon the courts and policymakers to reconsider their stance and devise humane solutions that achieve a balance between public safety and animal welfare.

Please join me in urging the Supreme Court to reconsider their decision and implement fair, balanced, and humane strategies that protect both humans and animals. Let's work together to ensure a future where stray animals are treated with the compassion and care they deserve. Your support can make a difference. Sign this petition today.
