Prevent the Reduction of Opening Hours - Alexandra Park Library

Prevent the Reduction of Opening Hours - Alexandra Park Library
The Issue
This is more than a personal plea; it's the voice of an entire community who depend on Alexandra Park Library.
The proposed reduction of Alexandra Park Library opening hours (to remain open for only 3 days a week) overlooks its significant role: not only as a resource of books, but as a hub of communal activity and social interaction for so many people.
Reducing access to such beneficial resources ultimately targets those who need them most.
On a personal level, the experience of becoming a mother has been massively enhanced by having this valuable resource available to us, almost every day. As parents with young children, we rely on this free, safe communal space to foster relationships with other families, encourage early literacy, stimulate creativity, engage in art activities, and encourage social interaction with other children.
We call upon the relevant authorities to reconsider this decision. Let's not reduce access for ourselves, children and future generations of the educational, developmental, and social benefits that Alexandra Park Library provides. Please sign this petition and support our mission to keep Alexandra Park Library fully open for our children, our community, and our future.
