Prevent the Reconfiguration of Bossen Park 6/7 That Limits Adult Play

The Issue

It has come to our attention that the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) has plans to reconfigure Bossen Park 6/7 by installing semi-permanent fences, a development that would render the fields unplayable for adults. This move is worrying, especially since leagues such as the Twin Cities Goodtime Softball League (TCGSL) and other long-standing city-sponsored leagues have already secured permits to play at Bossen Fields. TCGSL has been an integral part of the Minneapolis LGBTQIA+ community since its inaugural game in 1979.

The proposed changes put the accessibility and usability of the grounds at risk for many within our community, especially when there are other potential solutions that would avoid this outcome. It's important to maintain these spaces for all residents to facilitate sporting activities and community building. We respectfully urge the MPRB to reconsider their decision and maintain the current configuration of Bossen Park 6/7, thereby ensuring it remains a playable area for all.

Sign this petition to join us in our effort to keep Bossen Park accessible for everyone by ensuring any changes to the configuration of Bossen made are moveable and non-permanent!
