Prevent the proposed closure of Tijeras Creek Elementary School

The Issue

Tijeras Creek Elementary School, a cornerstone of our community, is facing an uncertain future as a recommendation has been made to the Board of Trustees to consider its closure. This potential closure could profoundly impact our children, families, and the community at large. It's crucial to understand that the Board of Trustees has not yet voted on the closure and will not do so until Spring 2027. This means we have time to take action and ensure our voices are heard.

Tijeras Creek Elementary serves not only as an educational institution but also as a pivotal gathering place that fosters community spirit and togetherness.

There has been no final decision, which provides us with an invaluable opportunity to engage actively and influence the outcome. By voicing our concerns to the Board of Trustees, we can advocate for the preservation of our beloved school.

We are calling on the Board to thoroughly examine all alternatives to closure. This includes exploring measures like strengthening our school's infrastructure, enhancing community programs, and reviewing budget allocations. Transparently discussing these alternatives with the community will ensure decisions are made in favor of what's best for our children and their futures.

It's imperative that we come together as a united front to communicate our school's value and necessity within the community. Our children deserve stability in their education and a nurturing environment where they can thrive.

We urge you to sign this petition to demonstrate our collective commitment to keeping Tijeras Creek Elementary School open for future generations. Together, we can work toward a solution that benefits everyone in our community.
