Sunset Drive Park is a beloved community space for families and sports  in Lodi, WI. This park serves as a haven for children and adults alike, offering an open area for soccer practices, sledding during winter, and hosting spirited neighborhood football and baseball games throughout the year. 

However, recent plans propose the conversion of a significant portion of Sunset Drive Park into a dedicated dog park. While we understand the need for spaces where dog owners can let their pets roam freely, this transformation would severely limit the current recreational activities enjoyed by the community. There is also a major concern regarding the infrastructure: with no dedicated parking space to accommodate dog park visitors, this change could lead to traffic congestion in the residential streets surrounding the park.

Local families, Lodi taxpayers, and young children rely on this park as a critical space for physical activity and social interaction.

It's crucial to find alternative solutions that balance the needs of dog owners with those of the broader neighborhood. We urge the local council to consider other locations that wouldn't compromise the recreational opportunities provided by Sunset Drive Park.
