Prevent the Discontinuation of Septa Route 128 in June 2025

The Issue

I am a resident of Bucks County, PA, and depend heavily on the public transit system to sustain my livelihood. Unable to drive, the Septa Route 128 has been my lifeline, the only means of getting to and from work. It has come to my attention that there are plans underway to discontinue this vital route in June 2025.

SEPTA, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, exists to meet the mobility needs of its residents. Yet, the proposed discontinuation of Route 128 will deprive me, and many others, of a crucial means of transportation. According to the American Public Transportation Association, public transportation such as SEPTA helps people save money—on average, up to $10,160 annually. This figure is double the cost of the everyday expenses like food and healthcare (American Public Transportation Association, 2020).

Moreover, the decision to discontinue Route 128 won't just affect the wallet—it creates undue stress and struggle for those who rely on public transportation, not to mention the potential environmental impact of increased vehicle usage.

I urge the authorities to reconsider this decision, taking into account not only budgetary factors but also the earnest pleas of Bucks County's hardworking citizens. I appeal to anyone reading this to join me in this petition: let's stop Septa Route 128 from being discontinued in June 2025. Please sign this petition and advocate for those of us who depend on this route for our day-to-day life.
