Prevent the Destruction of Local Biodiversity for Unnecessary Construction

The Issue

We are mobilizing to save an essential piece of our local biodiversity from unthoughtful greed. This issue is deeply personal - it's about saving our planet, our bees, our trees, and our seas. A local lot, blooming with native flora and fauna, is under threat to make way for a carwash, a service our area is already amply supplied with.

Our lot represents a small but significant part of the ecosystem. It is a home and breeding ground for local biodiversity which positively affects our environment and contributes significantly to the fight against climate change. According to the UN Environment Programme, conserving habitats like our own is critical in maintaining ecosystem services that benefit humanity - from oxygen production to pollination services provided by bees.

Yet, this thriving haven is at the brink of extinction due to plans to build an unnecessary carwash. Such rampant overdevelopment poses a serious threat to our environment, disrupting the ecological balance and leading to losses in biodiversity. The World Wildlife Fund states that we are losing 10,000 species every year due to habitat destruction, a rate 1,000-10,000 times higher than the natural extinction rate.

We cannot stand by and let this happen. That's why we're calling on our local planning authority to intervene and prevent the clearing of this lot. Together, we can preserve our local biodiversity, combat climate change, and contribute to the sustainability of our planet. Please sign this petition and help us make a difference.
