As a resident of Walthamstow, London, I have experienced firsthand the unique sense of community that CRATE near St James Street station fosters. This vibrant hub has been an integral part of my partner's and my life here in Walthamstow Central. Every shopkeeper within CRATE has not only made us feel welcome but also created spaces for invaluable and priceless sense of community that is rare to find in other parts of London.

CRATE is more than just a collection of small businesses; it's a lifeline for local entrepreneurs and a gathering place for residents who value local commerce over impersonal chains. It allows people to come together, supporting multiple small business owners at once.

However, this cherished landmark is under threat - slated for demolition in just three months' time. The proposed plan would replace this thriving marketplace with yet another block of flats - an addition our community neither needs nor wants.

The loss would be immeasurable - not only to the dozens of small businesses housed within its walls but also to the wider Walthamstow community who rely on its services and cherish its contribution to our local culture.
