Prevent the Closure of the Local Dogs Trust Centre

Prevent the Closure of the Local Dogs Trust Centre
The Issue
I have a personal connection to the staff who have dedicated their lives to the welfare of dogs in need, working diligently at our local Dogs Trust centre. This centre is not only vital to our community, but it's a lifeline for countless dogs who have suffered neglect and abandonment. Notwithstanding the emotional impact, the potential closure would also result in unemployment for the dedicated staff members.
According to Dogs Trust's annual statistics, in 2019 alone, they helped over 15,000 dogs across their 20 rehoming centres in the UK (source: Dogs Trust Annual Report 2019). Loss of even one of these centres would put significant strain on the remaining centres and potentially leave many dogs without the care they need.
We demand that the decision to close our local Dogs Trust centre be reversed. It is crucial, both to the integrity of our community and the welfare of our dogs, that it remain operational. Stand with us in this fight against the loss of an essential local amenity. Stand with us in fighting for our dogs. Please, sign this petition today.
