We have done it!

Thank you to everyone who signed this petition. Taking action to let our representatives know what is important to us has proved successful. With your help, we have secured the long-term future of Riverside Cottage Nursery and, at last,  have put this two-year long battle to bed. We would also like to give a huge thanks to everyone who contacted local councillors and who turned up to demonstrate at the civic centre. This was heartwarming for the Riverside team and a great experience of civic participation in representative democracy for the children. In fact, we made history as this was the first time children were present in the public gallery! The staff at the civic centre were very welcoming and helpful in getting us organised and ensuring the children could participate. The development and management committee agreed that the nursery is in a suitable location and that the community benefits of the setting are huge for local children and families - not to mention all of the wonderful staff who have worked tirelessly over the years to make the nursery so special to everyone.
