As a current student of Amherst School, I along with many of my peers, face a disheartening future. This educational institution we call home is under threat of closure. Many of my friends who have applied for the next year won't get to experience the nurturing environment and high-quality education that Amherst has been providing. 

Amherst School not only has built a strong sense of community among students, but it also consistently performs well academically. Our school’s performance in examinations has systematically been above average. A closure would force students to go to alternative schools that may not offer the same quality of education or supportive community. The future of our education, our sense of belonging, is at stake.

In addition, the closure of the school threatens the livelihood of many dedicated teachers and staff. Their tremendous efforts have not only facilitated our learning process, but they’ve provided care and support beyond their call of duty. The closure would mean a significant loss to these individuals who have tirelessly devoted their time for our betterment.

This petition is an urgent call to the Foundation Senior Leadership Team and Board of Governors to reconsider their decision. Our collective action can make a difference.
