Edict Arts Therapy is cherished, not only by me but by our entire community here in East Dunbartonshire. Over the years, we have observed its extraordinary contribution in supporting individuals with physical and mental disabilities to express themselves creatively. The creative processes, fostered by Edict, serve as therapeutic tools, catering to a diverse community of individuals who greatly depend on this service.

It has been reported that art therapy can promote mental and emotional growth, boost self-esteem, and improve one's quality of life. The National Institute for Health Care Excellence (NICE) acknowledges art therapy as an effective therapeutic intervention for mental health problems, thereby highlighting the importance of institutions like Edict (Source: NICE guidelines).

Closing Edict Arts Therapy would mean depriving our community members of an essential outlet for expression and therapy. Not only does this institution enhance the lives of those who use their services, but it also fosters an inclusive space for those with disabilities within our community. It is our obligation to ensure every member of our community has access to such beneficial platforms.

The proposed closure of Edict therefore demands our immediate attention and a collective call to action in safeguarding this priceless service. Let us unite to keep Edict Arts Therapy running and continue its noble mission of harnessing the therapeutic power of art for those in need.
