Unfortunately, the Franklin County School Board decided tonight with a vote of 5-3 to close Burnt Chimney and Henry Elementary schools for this upcoming year. I appreciate everyone who signed the petition and shared it. Ultimately I think their minds were made up. It’s now time to watch and see if they will stick to their word on increasing teacher pay, improving school maintenance issues and expanding school programs.
