From a parent who has spent countless hours in our current healthcare facilities, it is clear: The Leeds General Infirmary's (LGI) new children and adults hospital, including the UK's largest maternity and neonatal unit, needs to be built. The conditions within our current hospitals are desperate and in need of improvement.

According to the Care Quality Commission, almost half of the UK's maternity units require improvement or are considered inadequate. The removal of the new state-of-the-art maternity unit at this time is a devastating blow to parents and newborns across the UK.
