We strongly oppose the application for a renewal of the on-licence for Frasertown Tavern, particularly the proposed extension of operating hours from being open only 2 days a week to now applying to extend from Monday to Sunday, 9.00 am to 1.00 am. We are concerned that this significant increase in operating hours is solely intended to facilitate the relocation of pokie machines from The Ferry in Wairoa to Frasertown Tavern. This move could have serious negative impacts on our community, including an increase in problem gambling and associated social issues. We believe that the motivation behind the application is profit-driven rather than focused on the well-being of our community.
