STOP the 180 unit 8 STORY high Density Apartment on Hillsdale!!!

Real estate owners are leveraging taxpayer dollars and local government influence to reclassify commercial properties, and obtain a Special Use Permit aiming to salvage their unsuccessful investments for financial gain.

When the property was rented out to paying tenants, they neglected maintenance of the area, resulting in damaged signs. After a fire incident, they neglected to rebuild, leaving the property in a state of disrepair.

1: During the tenants' occupancy, maintenance was neglected.

2: After abandonment, the property was left uncared for.

3: With four businesses operating, parking space was insufficient so with 180 units it will be a nightmare.

As residents of the Cambrian neighborhood in San Jose, CA, we have worked tirelessly to maintain a safe and family-oriented community. Our efforts have resulted in a vibrant neighborhood where everyone knows their neighbors, children play safely on the streets, and hard work is valued. However, this could all change with the proposed rezoning and construction of 8 STORY 180 UNIT housing at 1190 Hillsdale Ave.

The proposed project threatens to disrupt our community's harmony by introducing an influx of new residents without sufficient infrastructure or resources to support them. Furthermore, it will increase crime rates and decrease property values - issues that other communities faced when similar projects were implemented (source: National Bureau of Economic Research).

We understand the need for affordable housing but believe there are more suitable locations for such developments that would not disrupt established neighborhoods like ours.

Please email and let your District 9 representative Pam Foley know how you feel and if they do not do something we will not be voting for them EVER! email - district9@sanjoseca.gov

The owners of the property Anastasios and Argiroula Papapsomas of San Jose living on Fawn Drive hired an architectural firm and are riding in on SB330.  They have filed preliminary plans to build the apartment complex at 1190 Hillsdale Avenue

if we DO NOT ALLOW THEM THE SPECIAL USE PERMIT they cannot build this under sb330

We will not be silent and not let 1 single email go unread or unheard!

We urge our local government officials to consider our plea. Let's work together towards solutions that address affordable housing needs without compromising the integrity of existing communities.

Please sign this petition to block the SPECIAL USE PERMIT and construction at 1190 Hillsdale Ave.
