We, the residents who cherish our local prairie park, are deeply moved by the proposed installation of a solar field in its place. Our beautiful park, a haven for wildlife and a place of escape for the community, faces a threat. This park isn't just patches of greenery – it's a living, thriving microcosm that deserves respect and protection.

Choosing an alternate location for the solar field is viable and considers the many constituents of the park's ecosystem - not only its human visitors, but the myriad species who call it home. Solar energy is important for sustainable living, but not at the cost of destroying habitats.

This issue is personal to all of us. We respect and defend the importance of sustainable energy sources such as solar power; however, we insist these infrastructures should be installed in locations that won't disrupt and displace wildlife or take away our green spaces.
