Prevent schools from blocking ChatGPT

The Issue

I don’t want ChatGPT to be blocked at school because it actually helps me learn in a way that makes sense to me. Sometimes, when I don’t understand something in class, I get nervous to ask questions. But with ChatGPT, I can ask anything without feeling embarrassed, and it explains things clearly and in a way I understand. One time, I had to write a newspaper project about the Gold Rush, and ChatGPT helped me organize my ideas and made learning about history way more fun. It’s like having a smart friend who’s always there to help me when I need it.

Many students share my experience, and the benefits of using ChatGPT extend beyond assisting with assignments. It is a dynamic educational tool that fosters curiosity and encourages independent learning. Teachers can integrate its use to provide additional support for students who may struggle to grasp complex subjects.

Blocking ChatGPT in schools could stifle student engagement and access to a diverse range of learning materials. According to a report by the Pew Research Center, technologies like ChatGPT can enhance student learning experiences by offering instant feedback and personalized learning paths.

We urge school administrators to consider keeping ChatGPT accessible in schools. Rather than banning its use, educational institutions could create guidelines for responsible use that would maximize its potential as a learning aid. Let’s give students the tools they need to succeed academically and become innovative thinkers.

Please sign this petition to keep ChatGPT accessible in schools and support a more inclusive and effective educational environment.
