Prevent Re-zoning of Combs Lane in Stone Creek
The Issue
As a resident of the Stone Creek neighborhood in Wilmore, KY, I am deeply concerned about the proposed re-zoning of a 5-acre piece of land on Combs Lane. This change would permit the construction of a Lighthouse Storage Facility, which brings a myriad of worries for those of us living here, especially families with young children like mine.
Currently, our neighborhood is a peaceful haven where children play safely in the streets and communal areas. However, if the re-zoning goes through, it would dramatically increase traffic, introducing a constant stream of large vehicles such as U-Hauls into our quiet streets. The presence of these vehicles, often driven by unfamiliar visitors, raises significant safety concerns.
The increased traffic wouldn’t just bring noise and disruption; it would also mean the installation of large lighting structures, altering the landscape and disrupting the natural beauty of our area. Strangers arriving at all hours could undermine the sense of community and security that we've worked so hard to maintain.
According to studies, storage facilities often generate significant noise and traffic, which can adversely affect property values and the quality of life for residents. In neighborhoods similar to Stone Creek, where young families are predominant, these changes could lead to frustrations and a decrease in overall neighborhood satisfaction and safety.
We need to unite as a community to oppose this re-zoning. We can achieve this by showing our collective disapproval to the local planning commission and advocating for decisions that prioritize our safety and the integrity of our neighborhood.
Your signature on this petition is a step towards preserving our neighborhood's safety, security, and environment. Please join me in stopping the re-zoning of Combs Lane. Together, we can protect Stone Creek for our children and future generations. Sign the petition to make your voice heard.
