Prevent Our Local Dollar Tree from Becoming a Self-Storage

The Issue

Our humble and beloved Dollar Tree stood as a cornerstone of our community until Hurricane Helene devastated our area and left a void in its wake. This is more than a store, it symbolizes affordability and accessibility for people from all walks of life. Now, the contracts have surfaced that threaten to transform it into a self-storage facility. It's currently caught up in a legal battle, as the self-storage company exerts pressure to expand their territories.

Beyond the emotional attachments we have to the Dollar Tree, it serves an important purpose in our community. With over 15,000 stores nationwide, Dollar Tree is not just a retail store, but a fixture of communal unity, offering a diverse range of goods at an affordable price. They yet have the potential to rebuild and be an invaluable resource to us, as they were.

Equipping the community with essential goods at an affordable price, Dollar Tree is much needed, demonstrably by the massive influx of customers they record yearly. Displacing it for a self-storage unit is not just a community disservice, but also tips off balance the economic scales within the community.

We strongly urge relevant authorities and the creators of the contract to reconsider this action. Help us save our Dollar Tree from becoming just another self-storage unit. Sign this petition and show your support for the preservation of our community's beloved store.
