As a devoted fan of Imagine Dragons and a proud Jewish American, I am deeply concerned about the potential harm that could be caused by Macklemore opening for the band's upcoming Tour.

His recent song praising Hamas and his history of antisemitic vitriol are not only offensive but also dangerous. Antisemitism is on the rise globally, with incidents increasing by 400% since October 7, 2023  alone according to the Anti-Defamation League. His song praises the terror group Hamas and is filled with fictitious information about Israel and Jews.

It is crucial we not allow such harmful rhetoric to be amplified at popular music events. We know that Imagine Dragons, Interscope Records and Live Nation do not share these views, but, by allowing Macklemore to open their concert, Imagine Dragons would inadvertently endorse his views, potentially influencing their vast audience negatively. 

We urge Imagine Dragons to take a stand against antisemitism and relieve him of his spot as an opening act, and instead choose an opener who respects all fans regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
