LifeWise Academy is a program that introduces religious teachings into public schools under the guise of 'release time' for students. While it may seem harmless on the surface, it has proven to be detrimental to a balanced educational experience. The intrusion of this program into our schools threatens not only our children's right to an unbiased education but also their exposure to essential subjects like physical education, art, and music.

As parents in Miamisburg, OH, we believe that our children deserve a public education free from bias and religious indoctrination. We have seen the effects of LifeWise Academy's presence in other school districts. In these districts, valuable time has been diverted away from physical education and arts programs to accommodate LifeWise's curriculum and schedule.

In other districts where LifeWise has been implemented, there have been reports of reduced hours for physical activities and art classes - crucial elements that contribute towards a well-rounded development for any child (source: National Association for Sport and Physical Education). Districts have ended up sending elementary school children that don't participate to a "study hall" where they waste time waiting for the school day to resume as usual. This is not what we want for our children or any child attending public schools in Miamisburg.

We urge you to join us in preventing LifeWise Academy from entering Miamisburg Schools. Let us protect our children's right to an unbiased, holistic education by keeping religion separate from public schooling.

We ask that the Miamisburg School Board and Superintendent ensure the following:

1. No modifications will be made to school scheduling or curriculum to accommodate LifeWise academy, their program, or their transportation.
2. No LifeWise literature or permission slips will be posted or distributed on school grounds.
3. The district will take the same stance with ANY religious organization making a similar effort to move into our district.
