According to UK government statistics, each year approximately 1 in 5 women and 1 in 20 men experience some form of sexual assault, underlining the severity and prevalence of such threats.

Allowing Kevin Hobbs to move into Garelochhead undermines the trust and security long cherished by its residents. It is imperative that we take proactive measures to ensure our community remains safe and secure. We urge local authorities, law enforcement, and housing associations to reassess the decision and explore alternative accommodations for Mr. Hobbs far away from densely populated areas, especially those with a high presence of children and the elderly.

We propose that a detailed risk assessment be conducted, and that community feedback be made a crucial part of the decision-making process. Additionally, transparency in the communication from authorities regarding the management and monitoring of individuals with such convictions is essential to maintaining public trust.
