Update: 43 Supporters and Counting!
Small milestones lead to big changes.
First, a huge thank you to the 43 people who have joined our call for fairer JCQ policies. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, or a student, your support means the world to families like mine.
Why this matters right nowMy brother, like many Year 8 students, is at a pivotal point in his education. As he moves toward his GCSE years, the pressure of timed assessments only grows. For an autistic student with physical hand issues, a "standard" exam isn't a test of knowledge—it’s a test of physical and sensory endurance.
Under current guidelines, the barrier to proving "need" is often so high that students who clearly struggle are left behind. We aren't asking for an unfair advantage; we are asking for the level playing field that inclusive education promises.
How you can help todayTo get the attention of the JCQ and educational policymakers, we need to grow this movement. We are aiming for our next milestone of 100 signatures.
Could you take 30 seconds to do one of the following?
- Share this petition on Facebook or X (Twitter).
- Send the link to one teacher or SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) you know.
- Post in a local parent support group—there are thousands of families facing this exact struggle who don't know this petition exists.
Let’s keep fighting to ensure that every student, regardless of their neurodiversity or physical challenges, has the chance to show their true potential.
Thank you for standing with us!
