Prevent Impending Animal Abuse in Tampa Bay - Don't Let the "Dog Daddy" Harm Our Dogs

The Issue

This petition shall be submitted to the appropriate governing bodies within the state of Florida imploring them to take immediate action to prevent Augusto Deoliveria (aka “The Dog Daddyy”) from committing animal abuse and public endangerment on November 25th in the Tampa area.

Augusto DeOliveria, also known by his self-proclaimed title of the “Dog Daddy”, is a social media influencer who primarily attained his fame through the exploitation of in-need dogs and their desperate guardians. Despite having no formal education or professional experience with animal welfare and behavior, he claims to be a professional dog trainer.

His "methods" primarily revolve around abusive and traumatizing acts of violence including choking, “helicoptering” (swinging around by the neck), dragging by the throat, yanking on the throat, provoking, jabbing, pinching sensitive areas, causing dogs to defecate in fear, and traumatizing dogs. Some videos of his "training" include audio of dogs screaming in fear and pain.

Augusto, who reportedly left a deceased dog in a garbage bag in a bathroom when he vacated a previous rental home, intends to come to Tampa, Florida on November 25th 2023 to conduct his "training" classes.

Augusto Deoliveria’s actions are clearly definable as Misdemeanor / Felony Animal Cruelty and False Advertising under the following state and county laws: 2023 Florida Statutes 828.12 and 817.41, the Hillsborough County Truth in Training Ordinance and the Hillsborough County Code of Ordinances Sec. 6-26, the Pasco County Code of Ordinances Sec. 14-37, the Pinellas County Code of Ordinances Sec. 5-213, and the Miami-Dade County Code of Ordinances Sec. 5-4.

Videos:

https://fb.watch/niW8mLrRXL/ shows Augusto using physical pain to “teach” a dog to drop a ball. He causes the dog to yelp in pain multiple times by squeezing a sensitive portion of their body. This dog exhibits no “drive” for the ball, is baited initially into playing “keep away”, and could easily learn a “drop” with food or a second toy.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cw3SQACPMgl/ Filmed in Miami, FL - shows Augusto DeOliveria repeatedly choking, swinging, and yanking a large dog by their neck via a choke leash and low-quality prong collar. The dog exhibits physical exhaustion, but maintains a hard eye and fixed stare indicating it continues to view Augusto as a threat and would continue to physically fight with him if physically able.

Please refer to the facebook group The Truth About Dog Daddy for further evidence of his abusive "training", previous fraud, neglect, unethical breeding, and more.
