The Issue

I grew up in the lovely village of Hockley Heath, a quaint place known for its peaceful living and close-knit community. The recent decision by South Warwickshire Council threatens to change this forever. Under a proposed local plan, Hockley Heath may expand from a modest village of 700 homes to a small town of 5000 homes and the destruction of Green Belt (SG24) The lack of careful consideration of essential issues is alarming. Increasing our population sevenfold would drastically exacerbate existing challenges around surface water drainage, overloading our local Soilhull council infrastructure with all Soilhull taxpayers will have to pay in the long run.—burdens that South Warwickshire will not bear. This development contradicts Solihull MBC’s local plan, emphasising that only small-scale development suits our village. As a resident who cherishes Hockley Heath's unique charm, I consider this expansion proposal concerning. To preserve our community spirit and prevent the disruption of our local environment, it is critical that this proposal be reconsidered. Join us in urging South Warwickshire Council to revise their plan and protect Hockley Heath's rural character. Please sign this petition today.
