I live in Florida, a coastal state that thrives on its beautiful beaches and oceanic tides. Our daily lives, our economy, our very existence is intertwined with the moon's influence on our planet. The idea of David Copperfield making the moon disappear might seem like an amusing trick to some, but for us Floridians and billions around the world, it would be catastrophic.

The disappearance of the moon would not only mean no or little waves - a blow to our local surf culture and tourism industry - but also a massive climate shift that could result in loss of life on an unprecedented scale. According to NASA scientists, without the moon's gravitational pull stabilizing Earth's tilt, extreme climate changes could ensue leading to uninhabitable conditions (NASA Lunar Science Institute).

This is not just about preserving our way of life here in Florida; it's about safeguarding humanity itself. We must prevent this reckless act before it becomes more than just an illusionist's fantasy.

Please sign this petition urging David Copperfield to refrain from any attempt at making the moon disappear. Your signature can help protect our planet and its inhabitants from potential disaster.
