For many of us, the pain was aggravated when her mother, Casey Anthony, was acquitted of her murder despite the incriminating evidence. Countless legal experts and citizens alike question the validity of this verdict given the presented evidence and overwhelming public sentiment. However, as a city, we choose to remember and respect Caylee's memory. As such, we believe Casey Anthony's presence in our city would be a harsh reminder of this distressing chapter and unwanted insult to Caylee's memory. We are not a judgement panel, but a community choosing to protect its serenity, collective psyche and our respectful remembrance of Caylee Marie Anthony.
