Prevent Cannabis Dispensary Cultivation in Morris Township

The Issue

We are deeply concerned that the plans to initiate cannabis dispensary cultivation in our neighborhood threatens the serenity and safety we cherish. Our tranquil township doesn't need cannabis cultivation when delivery services are readily accessible and there is a dispensary just ten minutes away. Our neighboring towns have taken a stand against this and prohibited it. Your local elected officials are not listening.

The impact is also imminent on our schools as the proposed ordinances are being rewritten to accommodate the dispensaries, bringing them only 250 feet away from places of learning. There are questions that need answers – will the proximity to a cannabis dispensary result in more impaired drivers? More unwanted traffic? Increased safety risks for our children who should be able to play and ride their bikes in peace?

Moreover, cannabis use is still seen by many as a gateway to harder drugs, and public dispensaries create an illusion of normalcy around its use. Potential health concerns, such as a possible increase in respiratory illness and the nuisance of the odor emitted, are also issues to consider. Our children are faced with enough challenges in 2025, let’s not compound the issue.

Residents of Morris Township, we must rally to ensure that we maintain the peace and safety we value. We are urged to say no, and make our voices heard on March 19, at Morris Twp. Boro Hall at 7pm. For our community, for our children, for our future, let's stand together against cannabis dispensary cultivation in our precious town. Sign the petition today.
