Good morning,
Some updates for you, first off thank you to everyone who has signed and shared, we're now over the 3,000 signatures mark. Please keep sharing and urging people to back Preston having a major venue again.
And it was great to see Preston can have big names performing - as Joel Corry and Paul Oakenfold headlined the Saturday night of the Preston Weekender. Thankfully it stayed dry (mostly), which is always we think one of the key reasons we need a good size indoor venue in the city - you can rarely rely on the Preston weather!
The Guild Hall was one of the big topics discussed at the recent local election hustings we organised in conjunction with the Lancashire Post and Lancashire Lead. You can see what each party leader of Labour, Lib Dems, Conservatives, Greens and Reform said about the venue. There's differing views, so once the dust settles after the election, we'll be asking questions about what the plan is.
We'll also be asking questions of the Arts Council - once the period known as purdah subsides during the local elections which limits what organisations can say during an election period - about their view on the Guild Hall and Preston having a major venue again.
Thanks again for all the support. Let's see what unfolds in the coming weeks.
