Pressure Local Law Enforcement to Tackle Neighborhood Speeding

Pressure Local Law Enforcement to Tackle Neighborhood Speeding
The Issue
We reside on Cypresswood Drive, Norcherster, Houston, Texas 77070 where driver speeding has become a diabolic trend, gravely endangering residents. As a longtime inhabitant of this community, pulling in and out of my driveway has shifted from a mundane task to a frightening gamble with pure luck. Our neighborhood should be a safe haven for residents, not a pseudo racing track for reckless drivers.
Across the United States, residential areas have victimized approximately 13 percent of pedestrians involved in fatal car accidents in 2017 due to speeding (source: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). Considering safety as a right, not a privilege, universally shared by all residents, it's critical to pressure our local law enforcement to take swift and stringent actions against these unlawful speedsters.
We urge local law enforcement agencies to intensify patrolling and vigilance, implement severe penalties for speeding offenders, and put in place proactive measures such as installing speed bumps and signs to ensure the safety of our neighborhood.
If you, like me, have felt the fear of navigating on Cypresswood Drive or Jones Road and you are concerned about the safety of our children and elders, it is time to step forward. Please sign this petition to bring about the change we desperately need for our neighborhood's safety.
