During every rainy season, more than 10,000 people from the village of El Guayabal, located in Cantón San Antonio Chávez, in the municipality of San Miguel, El Salvador, are completely cut off due to the lack of a bridge over the Río Grande. Students are forced to cross the river on foot with water up to their waists. Elderly people and those with medical conditions cannot access health centers. Farmers are unable to transport their crops. This dangerous situation puts lives at risk every year, especially during the winter months. As a son of this community, and alongside many Salvadorans who still have family there, we respectfully urge President Nayib Bukele, the Ministry of Public Works, and all relevant authorities to address this urgent need. The development of El Salvador must not leave rural communities behind. El Guayabal deserves to be heard. This bridge is not a luxury—it is a basic necessity to ensure access to transportation, education, and healthcare. Durante cada temporada de lluvias, más de 10,000 personas del Caserío El Guayabal, ubicado en el Cantón San Antonio Chávez, municipio de San Miguel, El Salvador, quedan totalmente incomunicadas por la falta de un puente sobre el Río Grande.   
Estudiantes deben cruzar el río a pie con el agua hasta la cintura, adultos mayores y personas enfermas no pueden llegar a sus centros de salud, y los agricultores no pueden sacar sus productos. Esta situación pone vidas en riesgo cada año, especialmente durante la época invernal.   
Como hijo de esta comunidad, y junto a muchos salvadoreños que aún tienen familia allá, pedimos al Presidente Nayib Bukele, al Ministerio de Obras Públicas y a las autoridades competentes que atiendan esta necesidad urgente. El desarrollo de El Salvador no debe dejar atrás a las comunidades rurales.   
El Guayabal merece ser escuchado. Este puente no es un lujo: es una necesidad para garantizar el derecho al transporte, la educación y la salud.
