USC President C. L. Nikias: Women in Engineering Matter.

This petition had 2,738 supporters

Nathalie Gosset trusted that the USC Human Resources representative would follow protocol when she alleged a bullying attack and intense sexual language from the Executive Director of the Alfred E. Mann Institute at USC. Instead, her job was eliminated and she was terminated.

Nathalie Gosset is an engineer with a distinguished 30-year career. She recently worked for 12 years at USC at the Alfred E. Mann Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California.

President C.L. Nikias, we ask you that you do what is right and act with integrity.

This case matters to many who #stand4Nat.

Nathalie is appreciated and respected by thousands of engineers, both men and women, who know Nathalie because of her volunteer work with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.

Her contributions have been honored with many prestigious engineering awards. For instance, she received a Global Lifetime Achievement award for her outreach work in biomedical engineering from the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.

The American Association of University Women, an organization with more than 80,000 members, is also in support of her case. She is a role model of a woman in a STEM profession.

Nathalie stands with strong credibility for her work in inspiring future generations of women in technical professions. Many female students of middle school and high schools engage in STEM activities because of her encouragement.

The number of women in engineering in the U.S. has not increased since the early 2000s and only 12 percent of engineers are women.

Nathalie deserves a respectful handling of her case.

Therefore, President C.L. Nikias, we petition you to do what is right for STEM women and handle Nathalie Gosset’s case with integrity.
