Hey Everyone-
I'm really glad to report that our petition reached a half-million early, yesterday, and we are at 517,000 currently. This is a great start, but there are 44 million people in the country who are very distressed on their student loans (this is 80% of the total number of people who either have- or are cosigned on student loans).

We need to reach a million to be taken seriously. This will happen when each of us puts some effort into getting this petition out there.
Please remember: Our plan is the ONLY plan out there that will ACTUALLY result in total loan cancellation. The other plans we are hearing about are weak, poorly designed half-measures that simply will not work given that Congress will never pass a meaningful loan cancellation bill, and that the Department of Education will not administer whatever Congress might pass in a fair way.
So...We are it.
Whether, and when we can get to a million signatures and beyond depends entirely and totally upon how hard you help us push it. We can get these loans gone before the election if we try. Please Try.
- Calling a reporter at this time, and telling them to report on this petition would be helpful.
- Getting ten people to sign would be helpful.
- Boosting the petition would be helpful.
This is not a "watch it happen" endeavor. This is a MAKE IT HAPPEN struggle. I hope you can appreciate that fact.
Let's get these loans gone for the good of the country.
