The  travel industry is the worst affected sector by Covid-19. Most travel companies/ travel agents are struggling the most due to corporate travel coming to almost a complete stop.  This will take a long time to come back as companies are struggling with their travel policies.  1 in 10 jobs is in travel.  A lot of us are struggling to either find temp/perm work as all our experience is in the travel industry. A lot of us are uncertain of our futures, whether we are being made redundant or even going through major mental health issues. The world is slowly going back to “normal” but for now we don’t know when the travel industry will be back to pre-COVID and we are subject to many government regulations about travel and the countries we travel to.  Business travel will not bounce back fast, but it will bounce back. The extra 600.00 is the only way to get close to our pay in order to maintain their homes and pay bills.  Going on only unemployment alone will put so many in this industry in the poor house.  These jobs were decent high paying salaries that never required college degrees.  To go out and find a comparable job, is near impossible in this climate.  It is a very specific skillset.  There needs to be an exception for the travel industry and the CARES act needs to be extended for this industry alone.  We are not meaning the airlines, but the travel management agencies that get all their customers to their business meetings.
