Most of the countries had approved the proper disposal of wastes such as the plastics, papers and others. As we all know that if we don’t throw our trashes in the proper place, it can highly cause negative effect on our environment. Things such as the blockage of water drainage system in times of heavy rain that causes flooding in some parts of the country especially the low-level areas, air pollution that came from burning of wastes and others. Approval of this petition can lead to a better and more clean country and can also helps in sustainability of plastics in creating recycled materials that is more productive. The plastic is an essential material in our society today but the disposal of this is our main problem and I’ve come up with a solution for that, that can somehow, lessen the wastes that we dispose on our garbage bin and will be put to good use.

            Many news about the flooding of low-level areas had been reported after some hours of raining, that explains the problem for my concern. As I have said earlier, the causes of this is because of the blockage of water drainage system. I will also elaborate our problem regarding the water pollution in oceans and others, the improper disposal of wastes can lead to this and if we didn’t end it now, then when? According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, the National Solid Waste Management Commission states that 74% of plastic leakage had been collected in our ocean, so if we put an example to this, imagine that we produce 2.7 million tons of garbage a year and only 2.27 million tons of that is collected per year by the garbage dumps and the remaining 386,000 tons are leaked into the ocean. This tons of garbage affects the marine environment and also us, humans.

            The solution for my petition is to gather all the paper and plastic wastes that you can collect and that you don’t need anymore and donate it to the barangay offices or in some designated city districts. In exchange for the collected wastes, it will be replaced with 12 pesos for every kilo of paper and 15 pesos for every kilo of plastic. I would ask the government to fund every place in our country for this. Another solution is the ban of improper waste disposal of factory buildings and establishments into the ocean and other places, the factory should segregate their wastes accordingly.

            The merits of this petition is the lessen of flooding incidents that is caused by the blockage of water drainage systems, the air pollution index may improve to more fresh air, and most especially the avoidance of water pollution in our bodies of water like ocean, rivers, etc. So I’m asking the government kindly to please start thinking about our country today, start planning not only in one particular project.
