The announcement by the Minister of Basic Education to open schools on 1st of June 2020 without taking into consideration the health and safety of learners, teachers and parents is putting peoples lives in danger. The corona virus infections is increasing at a fast pace and our schools are not safe.

Say No to the opening of schools 1st June 2020. Rather let the parliamentarians come to Capetown and open Parliament to set the example. Let them face the real health and safety risks. Let them sanitise and social distancing inside a confined space before putting our children back into confined school space.
