SAVE GABONESE FOREST ELEPHANTS FROM MASS SLAUGHTER

The Issue

Forest Elephants are a Separate Sub Species of African Elephant.

They live primarily in the Tropical Rain Forests of Central Africa.

The Single Largest Population of Forest Elephants live in the Central African Country of Gabon.

They are being exterminated like no tomorrow primarily for their Ivory but also for the Bush Meat Market that is flourishing in the Congo River Basin.

Minkebe National Park in Gabon till 2004, had between 32,000 and 35,000 Forest Elephants.

Now, in 2018 They have only 6,000 Forest Elephants.

All Over Gabon Miners and Poachers are slaughtering Forest Elephants specially Forest Elephant Matriarchs who as you may know are a Repository of Social Wisdom and Knowledge.

There has been a steep 62% Decline in the Population Of Forest Elephants since 2002.

At the rate, they are being eliminated they will be gone forever in a decade or less.

There are only 90,000 Forest Elephants left in Central Africa. Half of these Live in Gabon.

Please urge President Bongo of Gabon to take quick action concerning Forest Elephants specially provide Critically Endangered Populations with round the clock protection as well as issue Shoot at Sight Orders against Poachers.

Forest Elephants are the Gardeners of Central African Rain Forests. It would be a shame if they are gone forever.
