This Petition is to ask for there to be set laws against animal abuse and cruelty towards animals. For all animals kept as pets and those that roam our streets. We want there to be laws. Same as the rights given to humans against abuse, the animals themselves deserve this right. And it is our duty to provide it for them. Prevention of animal cruelty and torture (PACT) act law should be taken into consideration and signed into law. Preventing and punishing these people is both an animal welfare and public health imperative as well. Animal cruelty is a serious crime and it's endangering the safety of the society as well since it is a gateway to other violent crimes. All kind of animal cruelty is a concern, because it's wrong to harm any living creature. The reason why it's a public safety concern is because intentional animal cruelty is sign of psychological distress and it often indicates the individual is predisposed to committing act of violence.
