Pres Obama apologize for Chinese Exclusion Act

The Issue

WE the undersigned request Pres Obama to officially apologize on behalf of the United States of America for the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 thru Executive order.  The Chinese are the only ethnicity ever excluded officially from immigrating to the United States by an act of Congress, though it was repealed in 1943 strict quotas of Chinese were allowed to enter the country per year, it wasn't until 1965 that full immigration was afforded the Chinese. The US Congress led by Rep. Judy Chu passed a resolution of "Regret" in 2012 and and the Senate passed a similiar resolution in 2011 led by Sen. Feinstiein but it falls well short of an apology to the many families separated for decades because of this "Yellow Peril Era" law.  If The United States is to lead the world on Human rights and Democracy issues, we must come to grips with our own past.
