The attorney general developed a "Risk & Needs assessment system" for the Bureau of Prisons(BOP) to determine the recidivism risk of "each " prisoner. The assessment system consist of determining the risk of violent misconduct, analyzing prior offenses, prison conduct, time served and programs taken for rehabilitation.
After conducting the above assessment on Terrance Stanton, the BOP determined that his likelihood of recidivating is LOW.
When Terrance's sentencing judge reviewed his progress reports along with his risk of being re-infected by covid-19, he concluded that the courts commend Terrance for rehabilitation but releasing him sooner than 2038 will not deter him from criminal activity. Terrance is a threat to the community and reducing his sentence will not promote respect for the law."
At sentencing my brother was told that he’s being imprisoned to reverse his way of thinking and that will teach him to display ethical behavior.
Over the past 102 months he’s completed over 30 programs. Terrance facilitates "Ways to Combat Criminal Thinking" , "Cognitive Skills", and practice Islam faithfully. His conduct has evolved him into a mature man/muslim. Terrance actions displays what he’s thinking and how he feels but still he’s being told by the court that even after he’s proven he’s changed and have completed over 25% of his time, it's not good enough.
Justice is suppose to be fairness, fair play, and fair mindedness. Justice is suppose to display evenhandedness, objectivity; a lack of bias, a lack of prejudice. Terrance Stanton actions deserved a punishment because he was wrong but simultaneously became a victim of an unjust, broken system that judged him by color, disparity in cocaine and crack and our culture.
Show your objection to Terrance Stanton unjust sentence by signing, sharing, and posting. 1000 more signatures is the current goal. Support this movement."
