My name is Amanda Lynn Smith. I am 38 years old . I am a Mother ,Daughter, Sister and Granddaughter.I was not there for the birth of my grandson.

I am serving 20 years in Federal Prison .I am pleading for Clemency for my life. Please help me to be with my family. I was involved in drug trafficking crime. I had a first time federal defense counsel. Defense counsel provided constitutionally deficient representation regarding the nature and consequences of my guilty plea that induced me to plead guilty rather than to proceed to trial with counsel advise that I would receive a sentence of less than ten years if I pleaded guilty. Instead I got 240 Months. The other defendants cooperation against me, received lower sentences.

During my seven & half years of incarceration, I continue to work hard to prove to my family, friends & society, that I am worthy of a second change. I work full time at Unicor. I have never had disciplinary action while being incarcerated. I would love to be giving a second change.

As a result these are the Re-entry classes I have taken for release.1.Puppy behind bars vocational training program. I completed 4000 hours and got my dog handlers Apprenticeship.  I received Certificate for training my dog Duke to be a bomb sniffing dog for the World Trade Center. 2. Pathway to successful re-entry. 3. Life management skills #1. 4. Re -entry The Interview. 5. Small Business. 6. Self Esteem for Adults. 7. I didn`t know my own strength for domestic violence group. 8. Re-entry building blocks class. 9. Ace Computer class. 10. Rubies for Life Christian Group. 11. VT. Computer class applications.12. Electrical Trade VT course. I got student of the month for the Electrical program. 13 Carpenter Trade VT course. Core Curriculum for NCCER the standard for developing craft professional for both trades. Both course were 9 months long with official training transcripts and hands on for both. 14. Siestas program for information on STD and HIV awareness. 15. Guitar and Drums. 16. Crochet class. 17. Rest based Fitness. 18. Scrap booking. 19. Touch typist for typing. 20. Trauma in the workshop and seeking safety. 21.(CBT) Cognitive behavioral therapy and (DBT) Dialectical behavioral therapy group all in the resolve program. 22. Anger Management. 23. Non residential drug treatment program 6 months. 24. Drug education class for 40 hours total body circuit. 25. Karios Ministry inside weekend program Christian based. 26. Parenting course. 27. Completed photography class.

I am at the mercy of my readers, as I plead for my life. I pray that you see that Clemency is the right thing.  I want to bring awareness to others and prevent them from making the same mistake I made. Seven & Half years a prisoner,12 & half years to go.
